I think that this sport is much more "clean" as it was 2 years ago. Now the riders have to do a lot of controls by the directers of the Tour and by their own team. That is a big step toward the 0% doping. Floyd did one of the most unbelievable things in the history of the Tour but....

He's certainly not the first to be late for the start of racing. Pedro Delgado, defending his 1988 win was 2:40 late for his prologue start. In the 1991 Tour de France, Stephen Roche missed the start for his team's Team time trial and was told he could not ride and was disqualified. He rode the course anyway, alone. He ended the day outside the 107% time limit (taken from the time he should've started, not the time he actually started) and was subsequently eliminated.

I used to love the Tour. Cycling was my favorite sport. And then bastards like Landis, Heras, Pantani and other cheaters shattered it and shed suspicion over everybody else. Screw them all. I still like cycling, but I don't watch the professionals anymore.

Oscar Pereiro couldn't win the tour on his best form. Look at his results since. I don't know if Landis doped or not, but Pereiro is not a champion...he is a good racer who happened into a breakaway.
