the clash are great, but people saying that anywhere in england is a greater rock n roll place than america is a joke.....punk started about 15 years in america before england with the stooges, and then the ramones really defined punk starting in 74, and the pistols and clash kinda fed off of them when they played in england. the pistols and clash didnt pop up til 76. america was the start of rock n roll and has always done it the best......sorry!
