I bought a GP2X,and couldnt get rid of it quick enough,it was a pile of shit.Software wise,great idea and full of potential.Build wise -arrived with volume button on back to front,dead zones on the joystick (have read alot about that on forums),battery life non existant even with the best of batteries.
As regards GP2X compared to a pc MAME cab,mines boots up in about 25 secs,and its not that great a spec.Would probably boot even faster if I had linux as an OS.

you forgot to say. Chances of Ower of company running off and stealing all the money and then crashing his farri GP 32 all the time , Aracde cab never .... All So GP32 has limited Devlopers , Arcade cab is never endng ... Sorrt arcade all the way gp32 its fun while it lasted

cool device but i think not a draw, it could be said that its equal to play mame on a normal pc or laptop, or watch baseball,soccer on tv rather then go to a game i'd have gotten a ds or psp if i had a mame cabinet, no offence

Your video is wrong about 1 thing, Cabinet is based on a pc which can emulate alot more systems than a gp2x ever could. Power flexability? Really?
I personally think any laptop beats a gp2x since the mame emulating is just so limited on the system its not worth the time or expense if thats all you are getting it for.

Well, you gotta think about this two. The gp2x has like what ? a 3x4 inch screen and crappy sound? in my mame arcade cabinet I have a 32 inch tv, plus a sweet ass stereo system. Theres no way you can compare the two anyways. The gp2x is for travel the cabinet is for show off. Its like comparing a pile of vomit with a peice of shit.

I wouldn't compare both, I would own both! the GP2X to take it somewhere and be able to play arcade perfect version of MvC at full speed on the go while the arcade cabinet to play at home with bigger screen and greater sound, these videos also attract a lot of trolls like scott6725 and gamemaster14neo who are making stupid comparisons. Of course a laptop is better, but if you want to play just games on the go or whatever, what do you prefer? a laptop or a PSP? and on the case of the cabinet?...

it doesnt take 50 seconds for mame to load a game and the arcade quality is a bonus, but im pretty sure the gp2x cant play games like killer instinct or marvel vs capcom.
