Alvaro-In case you ... ( 1 month ago by TheInquisitive4Ever)
Alvaro-In case you missed, Domingo never marketed himself as a spinto. He first tried being a lyrico and ended up being a joke. Then jumped on being a dramatico and ended up being a midget. And you're wrong about spintos. Top spintos/dramaticos had very secure Cs. Domingo never had a secure B4 for starters. Get a clue you latino fiddlestick.

"TheInquisitive" is the epitome of someone who never made a name for his/herself and now is using YouTube as an outlet to pathetically try for the last time to make something of him/herself. Good job!

Pagerio. Listen Domingo had a great voice but his technique was not up at par. That Otello was transposed downwards as a role and that high note should have been a b flat. It wasn't.

Everyone knows that but singers deserve to get a fair share of criticism. I'm surprised Callas is considered one of the best sopranos coz I can't stand to hear her piercing voice. Such an ugly one.

2 are the bests ternors in the world: Pavarotti for the voice and Domingo for the tecnique and interpretation. Now that Pavarotti is died Domingo is the best

Alva-Try to make sense you dumb latino scum. The only thing spanish about Domingo is his place of birth. Everything else is Mexican. But then again, same story, different facets. As an Argentinian, you shouldn't be talking much. you're owned by someone else as a corrupt nation. Poverty has gotten to your little head it seems.

Vele-Actually poor technique is Domingo's major problem. Get a clue you clueless fiddlestick.

Not suited for this role but better than usual. Doesn't sound like he's pushing as much as usual. He got worse.

Inqui-Try not to change the subject and not to belive everythig american news tells you, i'm not poor at all, and this country is not so poor as you think. Belive me, your country is way more corrupt than mine. Anyway, i really don't care about where Domingo was born, i care about his singing. You're just another yanki xenofobo. My warmest regards to you and to Osama, his high regirter is fine, "BRO".

Alvo-I know about Argentina. Some of us gets his info from elsewhere besides TV. Let's not get in how many times Argentina went bankrupt, and was bailed out after conceding large national holdings to international financial institutions. Argentina is pretty much owned by international financiers. Your life support is in the hands of other. And while they let you live relatively confortably, you might just as well enjoy. It won't last very long.
Alva-Domingo upper ... ( 1 month ago by TheInquisitive4Ever)
Alva-Domingo upper register was never fine. Anything above a Ab has been a trial and error exercise for him in live performance. And when managed to produce a relatively high note, it always sounded pushed and had no squillo. Note that he never sung La Boheme in key.

Wow-How do you know? Do I need to buy you and your family out and trade you all in for a chimp at the zoo out of benevolence to prove that I have become successful? You're just breathing oxygen with zero contribution to anything you little fiddlestick.

You my friend, have been getting a slight bit uptight about all this (dramatic understatement, I know). I think we can all agree to disagree with you on Domingo's singing talent... and I believe I speak for most who have read your comments when I say you need a good punch in the nose.

Mitchy-Asa 19 you clueless fiddlestick what do you know? Have you even seen the inside of an reputable opera house? You bark a lot without any basis. In case you missed it, let me remind you that Mingo (where's the Do?) never sung La Boheme in key. Well..he barely sung anything in key throughout his entire career. If you cannot discern what's superb and whats pedestrian that's your limitation.
From what I see too ... ( 1 week ago by iltenoredramatico)
From what I see too, Maestro Domingo is the world-renown Tenor, artist, and you're not. The greatest critics are the ones who have failed and have nothing better to do but be envious.
Might I add that ... ( 1 week ago by iltenoredramatico)
Might I add that you're ridiculously racist and rude to people that might be even 10 years old. I'd say if opera ever falls because the younger generation loses interests, you've played a major role in that. Just to clear some things, the man started as a baritone and debuted at 18. As he says, he was a lazy tenor and started training as a tenor. So what if he never REALLY had a high C? He did "Salut, demeure chaste et pure" from Faust wonderfully, WITH THE C.
Lastly, is his poor ... ( 1 week ago by iltenoredramatico)
Lastly, is his poor technique the reason he's still singing today? At 70? Clueless fiddlestick you call others, but I'd say it best suits you.
Mingo is the master ... ( 1 week ago by TheInquisitive4Ever)
Mingo is the master of shady business deal and repressive career moves. He's left a carnage behind him while he was trying to progress in his career with the little talent he head. Instead of following the headline, try to get to the core of the matter. You have no idea about what you're talking.
Let me restate what ... ( 1 week ago by iltenoredramatico)
Let me restate what I have said already. The greatest critics are the ones who have failed and are left bitter and angry. Domingo has actually had a great career of singing whatever possible he wanted. He's lowered some yes, but the important thing is that he captivated the audience, and that's the money. Little talent? I don't think little talent would be allowing him to sing so wonderfully today at 70.

Dear Gabba02, I am wondering whether you might have mistaken this 1980 (July) performance broadcast on French TV, namely: Antenne 2 for that of January-March 1977 which was also held in Paris, and yet featured Mirella Freni as Mimi. Many thanks for posting it though. J
