It could protect you from smaller calibres. Uranium depleted 50. rounds are designed to take down armoured vehichles.

25 yrds any high power calibur will go through.
Try it at 100 yds you would get better results. at 25 feet my 50 cal round ball muzzleloader would go throught that easy.

its only dangerous if you breath in particles of DU dust, unfortunatally, if you shoot a DU round, you tend to get dust.... there is very little risk when just hanfling DU ammo. Sorry if you already knew all this :)

Not on first shot for sure if the 30-06 couldn't. But it looks like if you shoot a couple of times at the same area of the glass it will eventually go through.

Ah, I must humbly point out one thing that both of you forgot! A Barrett .50 round (or any long range round) cannot travel its maximum distance at the ballistics definition of point blank! ~.^ To get a distance of >7000 yards with a Barrett .50 the gun would have to be arched so much it would almost be nearing vertical. That said at a level angle it would still go pretty far, but it looks like they are in a safe area. Im sure they knew what they were doing.
