According to Rene Martinez-Stevie's guitar tech-Stevie's "Number One" guitar (the one that was beat up the most) was pretty much a completely stock strat from 1959, or 1962/63 depending upon which article you read. He never played on Texas Specials and it was said his pickups weren't overwound at all--that is merely a p/u myth.

Dude I like you videos, but several of your details are not quite accurate. SRV didn't use a Texas special pickup. Just show 'em how to play! Keep up the great work!

I love your videos man. Tonight I was sitting back having a couple of whiskies, and it was like you were chewing the fat (aussie slang: "talking about") SRV in my living room. Dig your informal style and enthusiasm, thanks mate!

Sorry, that's just not true. Regardless the price of the gear, the player will shine through. Case in point, I read an interview with Setzer, and he played some stuff through Stevie's rig. He sounded like Setzer, not SRV.

The cheapest way I found to get that tone is some reverb on the hendrix wah I get it nice i'll post it 6 mode on it green. easy nice glassy tone just like it. Ebay 80 bucks. I use humbuckers and get the tone with that.
