it's a way of training it'll give you loads of strenght and it's the exact opposite to concentric training , quite demading I must say.
if not done properly it could lead to overtraining

you are talking shite, the idea of this eccentric training is to use a weigth above your 1rm and lower it slowly which causes more load on the muscle and thus a greater adaptation, so you'll find its not crap

effective sacromere tearing occurs during an eccentric contraction during the lengthening of the z disks... when the fibers repair, you will be able to produce a lot more muscle force/power output so no this is not crap go to school....
