If Americans gave a damn about the economy (in more than just rhetoric), Ron Paul would be running all over the rest of the big-government neolibs and neocons. Unfortunately, people just want slogans and promises, not concrete solutions. Obama and Clinton will bankrupt the country with their healthcare welfarism, and McCain will bankrupt us with his perpetual military adventurism and interventionism.

Peter is right. "Huge difference between Clinton/Obama and McCain?" Like what? They all voted to continue the war on Iraq, the patriot act, etc. Obama has said he will continue the "War on Terror", he would go into Pakistan and other poor countries. (notice how they never talk about Saidi Arabia though.) Economically, they will all increase the size and scope of government, so they'll all lead to democratic-socialism. (not that the current mercantilism system is much better though.)

We've had so good for so long most have difficulty accepting another paradigm. We all would like to feel good about things as long as we can, believing that somehow it'll all get fixed up and we can continue down the 'yellow brick road'. Clearly the only way this nation will learn is with lots of pain. We must continue to support and promote Ron Paul's ideas in the hope that we can rebuild and work our way out of the next Depression.

You sound like you're already defeated. Have you forgotten that Ron has world support and tolerance? Have you forgotten that the primaries are a circus and provide no real evidence to what the people want. Your personal defeat is exactly what they strive for. Apathy is poison to the patriot. when it comes to baby boomers? Of course I am. For America to have ANY chance we have to wait for the under-30 groups (I'm 26) who are growing up getting their news from outside media outlets (such as online) who are pre-programmed by T.V. and society. Sure, a lot of young-ns have been programmed by school and the media BUT the programming doesn't stay. It didn't for me. In contrast, there is NO HOPE for baby boomers and older genrations if they didn't accept the Paul Message.

I'm also concerned about the older generations, and as consequence, the hard work they pose on us. There will be a point where anyone, no matter their denial, will have to come to terms with the illusion of an apathetic and infinite lifestyle. Our generation has the power to make the gears stop. If it has to come to that, I'll help throw in the wrenches.
