No the plane would not stall, ive seen 737-300's on finalsa at 110Knots, Flaps enable the aircraft to fly at lower speeds by creating more lift in the mid section of the aircraft, This aircraft (747) Is moving at around 140knots, normal Approach speed for a semi loaded 747, the FAS is decided in the FMC, Aircraft land with not much fuel, Being light they can move slower making the landing alot easyer, also the flaps and slats allow lift at lower speeds.

ummm lol, how would you know its fully loaded buddy? And ANYWAY, despite its speed, its still moving at very fast speeds, Im amazed at how fast these giants and all other aicraft move.

yea, the 747 is at about 140kts minimum, b/c when its landing, its expended most of its fuel, if the fuel was filled just right, so it can fly slower, b/c its lighter, and won't stall.

Guys...STFU. Any pilot who reads these idiotic comments is laughing his ass off. Stop trying to impress people with how smart you are. Breaking my own rule, here we go: The general rule is this: the bigger a plane is (higher wing loading factor), the faster it has to take off and land. If you really care about what Vref on a 747-400 with a full load is, then look it up on wikipedia. Cheers, -Slim

I fly a B1-B outta Dyess AFB I have landed at LAX a few times but the other side in from the ocean this side is a lot better, I had to do the fly over for the 1995 rose bowl so we landed at gassed up at LAX, who's the guycomplaining on the Vref speed @ 140kts, that seems about right especially a 747-400 they have probably flown half way around the world so they are probably pretty light on gas, just enough for 121 minimums I would guess "sorry I fly bombers"any airline guy's wish to correct me
