When Beth Gibbons is on stage, she gives herself totally to her art. This kind of honesty is rarely seen in the popular culture, and that is how she is able to draw us so completely into the exquisitely composed and performed music.
Who would guess that the shy smile we catch a glimpse of for just a few moments belongs to a woman with a voice that could melt diamonds? The fact that she is so private and reclusive makes these candid shots so much more meaningful.
I hope to see them live soon.
