Peak Oil and US-Geopolitics

Uploaded by: UnderseaCaveman
Video Description:
The subject of Peak Oil is introduced to those that haven't heard of it. An excellent website to visit for loads of pobcasts on energy and market is Jim Puplava's "Financial Sense Online".
Finally, I show that Ron Paul understands the connection between sound money (gold-backed) and our impending Oil Crisis from an interview featured on website "321 Gold".

Ron Paul is at least partially right when you consider how relatively painlessly we have coped with prices to date.
Oh there has been pain, but no riots no mile long ques.
But how does the free market solve the huge comming problem if we keep denying it exists.
Boone Pickens wind farms will make a fortune, Shi Zhengrong will make a fortune from solar cells, but you and I will pay and pay.

Buy a Bicycle? Sorry, the waiting list is 4 months!
Well, ultimately there's not enough time to bring on all the 100's of alternatives sources to make up for the 4.97 GigaWatts of power provided every second globally by liquid fuel.
Need 65,000 square miles of solar panels.
Ethanol? Lol! R. ... ( 4 months ago by WolYou)
Ethanol? Lol! R. Paul: Maintaining growth is impossible in a finite environment. And growth is what the economy is relying upon. Forget about machinery, fertilizers, roads, clothing and globalism. The time when we will have to grow our own food in the backyard is in just 5 years in the future. 5 years in global context means NOW! Forget about technology. Technology isn't magic. It can't surpass the law of physics and arithmetics. Enjoy - and have a nice day!

You have to be able to distinguish between an illustrative example and policy. Ron Paul believes in the so-called "Invisible Hand" (of the market), which a natural market mechanism...in fact the only natural one. Perhaps your english is poor, and you should read the interview at 321Gold with Taylor.

When Oil flow ... ( 3 months ago by UnderseaCaveman)
When Oil flow affects banking, then we have proof..... "Nature" or "They"...... The bankster don't like it when they ain't makin' money, and they rule the world (the lender always does). However, the bankster made a huge strategic mistake 80 years ago...they didn't consider "Peak Oil:imposed by Nature"... It's real, as real and natural and unstoppable as an earthquake, tsunami or hurricane! Wake up!

ther r too many issues and too complex to discuss here in word limit. U beleive the lies that the supply is short thats up to u. I do beleive nature has a limited supply sure but not at this point. I also beleive that we abuse nature etc. BUT the CRISIS is MAN MADE u shuld WAKE UP!

65k^2 worth of panel...how much sand is that, how much labor is that (transport, install, maintain), how much money is that?

This.
We'd need 9.1 million solar panels produced per year for 50 years just to get the energy that the world used from oil in 2006.

I believe that only now some of us may finally be beginning to see the problem from Bush's perspective.
History will likely be kind to Bush for what he has and will have done for America; such as avoiding a disastrous tumble of US$ from world dominion of money markets, saved millions of jobs, removed a dictator and put the fear of Bush in others, magnified American pride and expanded the military mi

Maybe long term US ... ( 3 months ago by funkyfreshpnoy)
Maybe long term US strategy is simply to dominate oil producing countries militarily, at any cost, while consuming world supply as fast as possible, so that the world's reserves will be exhausted before any oil rich country, say Russia, for example, gets the chance to make a bid for world domination. Only when the oil is gone would they convert to alternative fuels. A high risk strategy, a race against time, but it would make sense out what otherwise seems a totally irrational energy policy.
Funkyfresh, you are ... ( 3 months ago by Granite46)
Funkyfresh, you are more right than wrong. US strategy is to assure secure access to "cheap" oil at almost any cost. The military is the primary tool of that policy. And with the libs in US refusing us access to domestic resources, we send our soldiers, saliors and airmen to hostile places overseas.

There are 3 times the reserves of Saudi Arabia in American Oil shale. This is a KNOWN fact. Its very irresponsible for everyone to keep crapping his or her pants. Yes, we need to get off oil, but in the mean time, there is known to be A HELL OF A LOT on our own soil. Yes, it will take time to set up the extraction infrastructure - but we need to do it, and while we are using this oil, keep developing other energy sources. I hope wind power gets big

1 Alaska has a 200 year supply of Oil.
2 Oil companies knew this before 1980.
3 Larger Oil Fields are in Colorado and S.D.
4 Alaskan Oil was hit 45,000+ feet.
5 Bio-matter stops at 18,000 feet.
6 How can Oil go through 25,000+ feet of rock?
7 Experts now say Oil is a renewable resource coming from the Lava Core of the earth.
Should a government trying to protect us seek imminent domain over the oil reserves?

When a large world ... ( 2 months ago by riflekid44)
When a large world power invades a sovereign country in order to control the flow of oil, well, that's the sort of storyline that normally brings hundreds of thousands of protesters to the streets chanting "No Blood for Oil."
But will we be seeying the masses of the world rise up and condemn Russia for its naked aggression against its smaller neighbor, Georgia? I'll be waiting, but I won't be holding my breath.
