On the 30th November 2002, Girls Aloud were created via ITV programme "Popstars: The Rivals", and stormed to #1 with their debut single "Sound of the Underground" a month later. Over 5 years on, Cheryl, Nicola, Nadine, Kimberley & Sarah have achieved 18 Top 10 singles & 5 Platinum albums in the UK!
This was the first part of their journey towards being the UK's leading girl group of the 21st Century.

Who would have thought 6 years later the girls would have come so far. they are brilliant. true professionals now. I am so glad Javine didn't get in the band. She's not as nice as the other 5 and I dont' think the dynamics would have been as good.
