Approfitto ancora una volta della forza comunicativa di Youtube (un mezzo che fino a pochi anni fa non saremmo nemmeno riusciti ad immaginare) per condividere
con il pubblico della rete un'esperienza straordinaria che ho vissuto (in qualit
à di testimone cinematografico emotivamente coinvolto) insieme ad un gruppo rock attivo a Cerignola (FG) tra la metà degli anni '80 e l'inizio degli anni '90. La Band nasce da un sogno maturato gradualmente nel cuore di tre adolescenti appassionati di musica: Francesco Carnevale
(batteria), Daniele Russo (tastiere e basso) e Valerio Stea (chitarra e voce). I tre ragazzi, conosciutisi alle scuole medie, trascorrono tutto il loro tempo libero ad ascoltare e a produrre musica, finché, verso la fine del 1984, decidono di fondare un complesso che chiamano "Ar
t Decade" dal nome di un brano di David Bowie. Successivamente, ai tre elementi citati, si aggiungono Peppino Di Donato (voce), Cesare Strafile (chitarra) e Luigi Lattanzio (Tastiere). Verso la fine degli anni '80, il gruppo conosce alcuni cambiamenti e infatti entrano a farne parte Miche
le Giannasso (tastiere) e il giovanissimo Michele Loconte (tastiere e voce), che proprio in quel periodo scrive "Aria" (la canzone eseguita nel video nella versione arrangiata dal gruppo), con la quale alcuni anni dopo, vince il primo premio alla "Festa degli Sconosciuti" di Rita Pavone e Teddy Reno
. Con la formazione appena descritta, la band, che si era già distinta per la creazione di un interessante repertorio originale e per ottime cover dei Cure, dei Bauhaus e dei Litfiba, raggiunge la massima notorietà locale e inizia a tenere concerti anche in altre città della Puglia. Tra gli artis
ti che si sono esibiti con gli Art Decade, degni di nota sono: Vincenzo Belpiede, Amleto Carobello, Mimmo Russo e Michele Avello. Dopo aver custodito gelosamente per anni i nastri che contengono le immagini inserite in questo video, oggi sono finalmente riuscito a realizzare anche il mio desiderio d
