Mellencamp talkin' about the war and the troops. I admire the fact he remains objective and I think it's great that he made an inept attempt to entertain the troops, but his music and lyrics are as insipid and simple as Dewey Cox's. He makes Larry the cable guy look a genius. He is definitely the epitome of simplicity. I would've been pissed if i were in Iraq and he showed up! Also..he really should express his political opinions only to close friends...or to the ones willing to see him perform.

look at 1:37 and you see Johnny Cougar with lipstick, eye make-up and fingernail polish. This is the real Johnny Cougar! He started out as a Glam-glitter-Bowie wannabe. But when the music and the pseudonym brought too many laughs...he jumped on the Dylan-Springsteen-Guthrie train. Gotta admire him there! He knows how to sell rubbish to the pinheads!
