They are ignored by the mainstream, cos they are actually making good stuff, that has nothing to do with emo or "retro-the strokes-rock-clones" (and the strokes were also unoriginal, as they only emulated the sound of classic rock bands, so one can think of them as a rip-off band).
If people actually stopped listening at the radio and search music like myself, they will discover true unknown geniuses, like Aberrant Vascular, or Alamaailman Vasarat, etc, etc.
