dude, the world ending?if you think that then youre half right. the dharma initiative was set up to try and change the valenzerti equation which uses numbers to predict how the world will end whether through drout or over-population ornuclear holocaust, the components of the equation are 4 8 15 16 23 42. and all of the dharma stations play a part in covering all those aspects of global anihilation and finding a solution to each and from what i can remember, the hyroglifs in The Swan mean "Death"

I think that this guy is half right, I think the outside world is actually GOING to end but the island is where civilization is going to re start. I think island is an island of God, that is why Adam & Eves bodies are on it, and the Oceanic flight survivors are people that have been chosen to help re start civilisation.

They all have traits and skills that Jacob (the island) has decided are necessary. The man who travels through time also knows which people are needed on the island, because he has been to the future and knows that the world will end.The oceanic 6 who left the island have now been told they HAVE to go back,I think this is because its nearly time for the world to end and they need to be on the island when it does.The black smoke monster gets rid of anybody who is not supposed to be on the island.
