Trust me, sometimes to be a graphic designer can be worse than being a garbage man. The hurting fact is most clients don't really trust a proffesional designers - instead, they force designers to do whatever they feel seems suitable, just because they cannot do it themselves... in the end you deal with horrible frustration and compromise and clients deal with crap work.

CLIENT DICTATED DESIGN: Yup, I hear it over and over from my colleagues: many clients don't listen to advice. We're in one the few industries where clients frequently tell you how to do your job (would you tell your electrician how he/she should do their his/her job?). Why don't they just do it themselves if they're experts? "Can you make logo bigger...can you center all the text" etc. (: Monkey design ;)

I specifically searched for this type of video because this is becoming my typical day at work. Someone please shoot me and put me out of my misery. The part after 2 min is cheesy, but up to that point it's exactly the kind of crap I have to put up with. They forgot one more thing. When the design is finalized and is shown to someone at the top who thinks it sucks (rightly so) guess who's fault it is.

Wait till you get a job in video game design. This will seem like heaven. Video game companies are sweatshops. You will have no life at all. Read some testimonials by people in that industry, like at EA.
