Im sorry to burst your bubble, im Iraqi and i have talked with alot of Iranians (all of them not religious at all and hate the mullah regime).
They told me that the Shah was a dictator, he was secular, but still a dictator.
I know that alot of iranians prefers a secular dictatorship over a religious one, i dont blame you.
But you have to face reality, the Shah was a dictator who killed and abused the ones who disagreed with him.

sabtiy80, the Shah had to be a dictator for the very simple reason that mullah filth was all over the country. If you asked me, I would say he was too mild compared to his father (Reza Pahlavi the Great; may his soul rest in peace). If he had kept a firmer grip on Iran and killed more mullahs like the bugs they were, he would never have been toppled.
You cannot execute democracy in a country with more than 50% of the people demanding Islamic law!! Dictatorships are NOT always bad.
