OMG. For people who think emo is a modern thing. No. Emo goes back (or even further back than) early modern age(1500-1600s). Back then theatrical characters who would be melancholy (have an excess of black bile, a body fluid) would be JUST like emo kids. And yes, they were made fun of too, they infact propelled the "comedy of humours" which made the word "humour" go from 'bodily fluid' to 'funny'. Emo, melancholy, angst, w/e you call it goes way back.
