this is just some fucking nerd, what a insult to cash and nin, how can anyone take compliment to this
Maybe you just not ... ( 3 months ago by heroinmethheroin)
Maybe you just not need take everything so seriously. You dont think Trent was at one point "Just some nerd"? Have you ever seen his first band 'Birds of paradise'? Fucking geeky awful 80's synth pop. Love nin dont get me wrong. People just need to give it a rest.
I'm sure Reznor ... ( 3 months ago by mrdeadhead)
I'm sure Reznor really doesn't mind this stuff. Keep in mind Kermit is one of the most iconic characters in the world. And assuming reznor was ever under the age of 10 i bet he loves this (probably just wishes it was the real Kermit). I could see him loving the muppets and the fact that Kermit is singing his song. And if he isn't, he shouldn't deserve credit for such a good song. I feel like Cash would get a chuckle out of this, too.

NIN still play this song.
Trent was angry at first because the song was so personal to him, not because of how amazing the cover was, but after hearing it he changed his mind.

I'm well-aware of the real lyrics, but "Swedish friend" has a very nice ring to it. It would be strange to assume that I thought those were the real lyrics.

I just checked em ... ( 3 months ago by heroinmethheroin)
I just checked em out... Again not for me. Although the first vid i watched the music reminded me of nin in a toned down sort of way. It was a house beat with riffs that if played with distortion or in a lower chord would be exactly along the nin sound. I also checked out Slam Bamboo... Now i can see why he took the route he did. Buwahahaha.

both of you are wrong it was a song written way earlier. prob when johnny cash first started. it was written back around the 50's era but it was considered rude and volger. NIN saw it and did their version, then Johnny cash made it his own. RIP JOHNNY CASH
