All By Myself

Uploaded by: DaremoS
Video Description:
Another video of Eric Carmen singing his song "All by Myself"... aired for tv show "UK Gold" during 1976 in UK... by that time the song was #26 in British charts reaching later #12.
In this version Carmen sing and play without playback... together with group (which is noticed by the sign he made to the group in minute 3:43 to enter in the closing part).

oh please, people's loyalty to "originals" or "ancient" singers is annoying! vocal abilities in the past do not compare to vocal abilities heard today! and why is celine's version more well known?

fantomroyale, the only thing annoying here is your shocking taste in music. Celine's version is better known because of marketing, dear. Why do you think you have millions of idiots that think that Paul Potts is the next Pavarotti. Marketing ! To me, it is all about quality, not marketing. Eric Carmen, like Jennifer Rush, and gullible fans/buyers of Celine Dion music ware, were dealt a huge disservice when the "diva of pop" starting screeching "All by myself" and "Power of Love".

to add on to what you said I think Celine Dion is not a talented singer Well, "yes" she can sing, but Eric is better =p
Hello ... ( 2 months ago by cytotoxix)
Hello MisterDongDong,
I don't mean to knock any particular artist, but Celine Dion really makes a hash of things when singing other artists' music, songs that are perfect in every sense of the word. I mean, she has wrecked music sung by, amongst others,Pandora's Box, Eric Carmen, and Cyndi Lauper. She screeches in all
her versions, and THAT annoys the hell out of me !! Please, will someone tell that woman to just call it a day.

haha, yea, I know what you mean about the screeching Apparently... "America" think that's a talented way of singing Not to be rascist, but "most" black female singers do that screech too, as well as Celine. Singing isn't what it used to be, for myself, I believe Everyone can have a beautiful voice..well...almost everyone, haha.

As far as I'm concerned the best cover of this song ever was done by my niece, Jamie O'Neill, for Bridget Jones Diary.

I agree with cytotoxix. I grew up on this beautiful version, so it's really hard for me to let go of it as the definite version. And if someone's gonna make a good cover, that hag Celine Dion can't possibly be the first choice for it. Somebody should've checked with their own brain first, before marketing that hideous version so much, as much as people should've also checked with their brains to see if they were buying musical dogsh*t.

It varies in different territories, but in the U.S. all works published before 1923 have expired copyrights and are in the public domain. Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto (Op. 18), that Eric has arranged, and added a lyric to, was composed in 1900-1901, and thus is in the public domain, and doesn't have to be credited. Similarly Love Me Tender, credited to Elvis Presley and Vera Matson, is actually based on the American Civil War ballad Aura Lee. Its original composer isn't credited either.

Ummm, no, not celebrating loneliness as he states that he doesn't want to be "all by myself." He wants what we all want, to be loved in the real sense.
