| Actually, it's not fake...the US has sadly spent hundreds of Billions of dollars on it over more than two decades. The problem is that it doesn't work. The Tracking system isn't precise enough and the range/power isn't large enough for it to be practical. It has never been put into service. For whatever reason, future weapons doesn't like to mention these minute little details. |

| uhh... so you've just given out information that, at least if i were given the option to design such countermeasures, would allow those who make the missiles you want to destroy, the ability to.. oh i don't know.. maybe just apply a mirrored surface to the missile.. or.. if I were designing sh!t like this, use similar technology to make a reactive mirrored surface that automatically adjusts the mirrored suface to reflect the laser back to the emitter. |

The system is currently undergoing system integration of the high power COIL laser unit...many of the components including the tracking system have been successfully tested in flight & the high powered laser assembly has been sucessfully tested on the ground.
