If County & city leaders can handle their own problems, they wont request the state governor to intervene.

Riots are a little different than a whole city being swept into chaos by a hurricane where looting is rampant and their's not enough police to handle the situation. And from what I've heard, blackwater didn't do such a horrible job other than seizing weapons, which is wrong, but every authoritive power was doing that.

Ok.first of all, for those of you who don't know, Swansboro,NC is a VERY tiny little town.I have a beach home there.They have to ask and get permission from the city to do that training.Also, Swansboro is a town full of military people.These excercises have been going on there since before I and probably YOU were born.And yeah they search the cars, it's part of that training.They only train like that in tiny little areas LIKE SAWNSBORO YOU IDIOTS! MissRx is actually 100% correct about that one. I am scared and mad about alot of stuff BUT I also have family in the military. Both active and retired now. They have been doing these trainings since before many of us were even born and we still haven't seen martial law inforced in a bad way.Swansboro is a tiny town. I lived there for many years. And it is a town full of military people. It's a good town and they ask permission from the city before they do the martial law training.

Exactly this is just standard urban warfare training, they do this stuff in Iraq, search cars, confiscate guns, round people up, this is just things the military has been doing for decades to prepare for war not for occupying American cities.

Go and buy a gun. Follow the laws in possessing a firearm. Practice shooting it at your local firing range. When this 'scenario' happens, if it does at all, be prepared to fight back. It's that simple. We have the right to fight back if the government tries to do anything unjust to the citizens. Make your forefathers proud. They fought Britain off of US soil. It might just be training, however it violates unlawful search and seizure. I don't think the people being unlawfully detained and searched appreciate this. If the military needs practice drills, they can set up a mock city on base. There is NO excuse for this - Besides its just one more step closer to big brother taking control. It may seem harmless now, but the more you let control of your rights slip, the more they'll be taken away.

hmmm dejavu lol seems just like yesterday...all these drills they showed here now are a mandatory training for every soldier going to iraq/afghanistan regardless of what your job is... we do vehicle searches, searching individuals, how to control them at all times, and even how to control a resisting individual, how to setup road blocks and checkpoints, and how to stop a charging vehicle. I can see all that training being put in use here in the states in the near future. GOOD LUCK all
