Silent Hill 4: 21 Sacraments Ending

This is ending 4 out of 4 [1 being the best ending, 4 being the worst]
According to Game-Endings.co.uk: All 21 people were killed, thus the 21 Sacraments ritual was completed. Although Walter has been defeated, Elieen was not saved, and Henry died in his room short time later. The entire apartment building was possessed, and Walter's spirit could return to Room 302.

That depends. If the genre is considered Survival Horror, then this isn't a fitting ending because you didn't survive. If it's simply Horror, then maybe you have a point.
Also, I can't quite see what's so fitting about one person finding peace at the expense of a good number of innocent people's lives.

Nah, I just don't like it when the hero loses.
At the very least, I wish they better explained how Henry died. After beating Walter, he gets a headache, falls to the ground, then stands up again, looking completely fine before the screen fades out. Next thing you know, the news comes on and says he's dead.

It does that in most all Silent Hill games.
I guess it's to make the gamer buy the other games in the series in hopes they will find out what happened and so they can make sense of it all.

The first Silent Hill did that better though. It actually made sense how Harry died. This one just comes off as awkward and makes no sense whatsoever.

it means which ending is most likely the true ending. for sh 1 it was the good ending, in sh2, its the one where james kills himself, in sh3 its most likely the possesed ending, coz heather killed the god , but its presence was not completely destroyed, and that caused silent hill power to go on. it sh4, it sthe one where eileen dies and henry survives, so the ritual was never completed. in orgins its the good ending.
