KABOOM!!! there goes Pete's eardrum. During rehearsal they set off the explosion and Keith thought it was too wimpy, so for the actual show he loaded up the mortar with a huge amount of powder. That's when Pete sort of disappeared in a cloud of smoke. He said his hearing was never the same after that.
