I looked up the sheet music for Inverness Gathering and what we're seeing in the video seems like a modified version of it. So I guess you're right, even though it's not the published version. Oh well, Alasdair Gillies can do whatever he wants, he's the best!

yes well sorry thats kinda my fault i should have said i thought it was a vamped up version a little cross wires.
And yes he can play marches what ever way he likes he is one of the best

one thing that bugs the piss out of me is that whenever you see a piper performing, there are always people talking and laughing in the background, unlike at other musical events; as if bagpipes were not a serious art form and deserving of our full respect and attention!

Ah, this comment hits the spot with me! I can't EVER go the Mucky Duck and see a performance, whether it's the pipes, a singer/songwriter, whatever, without there being one table full of rude asses ruining the show for everyone. I'd consider the Duck a premier venue, if they'd only bother to throw out the trash when they need to. But they don't. And me asking them to be quiet never seems to work either. Wish I could just shoot them, that way I could actually enjoy a full show for once, lol.

Here, Here. One of the best pipers in the world and people talking over his playing which he has practiced may hours perfecting on a beautiful instrument. You wouldn't hear the same kind of chat if a violinist was playing.
