oh and ps3 games are only 720p which are what all 360 games are also in, so playing games in blu-ray is just a fancy way of saying it's the same thing. Only movies give the fullest potential of B; and that's only if they're 1080p and displayed on a proper tv

It's the fact that Blu-ray holds 5x as much as a 360's dvd9 that it can handle hi-def, that's enough space to hold the entire Halo trilogy as well as Gears of War. The next Xbox WILL use Blu-ray, and when it does all you 360 fans will comepletely ignore those arguments you made against it.

they're not going to use blu-ray exclusivly, only a blu-ray add on (for around $200). Why use blu-ray for games when the graphics are practically the same? 720p is the same as 720p regardless if it's on a ps3 or xbox.
I also don't like download times, which can be RIDICULOUS on the ps3.

You're right. After two peices of crap (i guess we can say 3 since the slim had ALOT of issues when it came out)sony finally got it right on the 4th gen!

Blu-ray isn't just about graphics it's about size, you can have MUCH bigger games on a Blu-ray disk, imagine Oblivion with 6x weapons/spells/landspace.

but do you really think that is going to happen? Can you imagine the load time it would take for that??? There costs would be through the roof. Why make so much more content for one system when they can just do that for two systems and profits would still be the same.

Then Blu-ray is mainstream, MS will have to use Blu-ray in their next console (Xbox 3). Could be 1-2 years before BD is mainstream.

I don't think anyone is going to be making a new console that soon. The ps3 is what a year 1/2 old? MS prolly wont use it becuase they can make more money through digital DL's rather than cramming everything into one disk. I think BD will continue to grow, i love BD but for games i don't think its very neccasary. Consoles left cartridges behind becuase of load times, why would they bring back something everyone hated? I want to play my game now! not a few hours from now.

Blu-ray is going to be used for games, loading times are exactly the same or slightly worse if not better than DVD load times, so slight that I don't care. Again, Blu-ray will be used for games in the future, and the only way I can prove that is to wait for the next console to come out which I guarantee will use Blu-ray unless it's a Nintendo console which is always years behind. It's going to be the standard disk format for games and movies just like DVD is now.

Ninetendo is years behind? But yet they have the revolutionary system that EVERYONE wants? Who has had the better sales, the Wii or the Ps3? The wii was won BY FAR. You can't even find one in a store but i can walk into a store and see 10+ ps3's at any given time. Blu-ray is a luxury item and will be for MANY years.

If that is honestly the best response you can come up with to the excessivly long load times for the ps3 than well lets just say thank god you're not a sales rep for sony. You wouldn't be selling a damn thing.
I also feel bad for the people who end up getting a lot of games for their ps3, that hard drive space will be filled up pretty quick.

It takes 20-30 minutes to download devil may cry 4 on a ps3. On my xbox, i can pop in the game and play immediatley.
All blu rays have Dl times, games take much longer though.

DMC4 has the longest install time of any game on Ps3, most games take around 1-5 minutes to install.

It's years behind? Just because it dosn't have a gigantic hard drive dosn't mean it's years behind. The concept behing it is astonishing and what do big sales mean? That it's better than the ps3, but promptly behind the 360. Look for blu-ray to be more mainstream in 3-4 years, 2 if we are REALLY lucky. What we really need are sub $300 BD players, that should/will spark the market.

It is years behind, look at the Wii's graphics. Also, it only uses Flash 7 and goes goes up to 480p. But because it's years behind, it's cheap, that's why it sells more. Blu-ray is going to very likely be in every next console that comes out. Big sales do not mean it's better than the Ps3, the Ps3 is much much better, but more expensive. It's selling more than the 360 as well, so how can it promptly be behind it.
