for The Skyliners.
Their first (and biggest) hit was
SINCE I DON'T HAVE YOU.
THIS I SWEAR was their 2nd hit and,
as the record companies did in those
days, was made to sound very similar
the first hit.
PENNIES FROM HEAVEN was their 3rd and
final hit and did not do well on the
charts compared to the first two.

Years ago I won tickets from J & R Music for a doo-wop show @ MSG and my wife & I got to meet Jimmy before the Show.I took a picture of Jimmy as my wife told him " whenever my husband gets a little grouchy...I play ' This I Swear ' & it calms him down '.Jimmy turned blood red & went out on the Stage @ MSG 1/2 hour later & dedicated this song to my wife & I and I thought my wife was going to faint... |

| Hi Gabriel, Ray Sigman here lead singer of Custer's Last Band and The Dreamlovers. Jimmy Beaumont had the finest voice you will ever hear a white man possess as far as lead singers is concerned. I graduated in 68 but fell in love with all the 50's and 60's. As far as I'm concerned they can take the 70's and after to the dump. Sure there are some great songs from the 70's but they are too few and far between. I collect 45 rpm records, and have loads of the good old originals. |
