A look at the irrational fear caused by the superstitions behind chain emails. Are we right to fear them and pass them on or should we delete them?
We look at a current chain email doing the rounds that featured a picture of Jesus and Jesus on the cross. The accompanying texts talks about how you will have good luck if you pass the email on to ten people but bad luck if you break the chain. Another email with a picture of the Virgin Mary with
identical text is also being passed on. By passing them on are you partly to blame for their existence and should you be passing on your superstitions and the burdens of continuing the chain to your friends? We analyse the text and find out why many people are afraid to break the chain.

| I always delete them. I think people are silly to have a fear in those! We also get a lot in the US to spread propaganda of untrue statements about the gov't and candidates. |

| Also in logic, if you believe in the readings of Jesus, you know the he, like God, does not play with dice. Winning lotto is not a blessing from God. The blessings are usually on levels far more complicated than we can understand. For some people, winning lotto ruins their life. It perpetuates greed, sloth, pride and jealousy. It doesn't sound like Jesus does it? |
