Clyde Otis, who wrote and produced this song, left the label after it's release. He was perfect for her. The subsequent producers never did her justice. Despite what it says on the video, I've never heard of or seen any reference made to Phil Spector being connected with it in any way.

You're right! I dug up the LP., 15 Hits (Original Recordings), LRP-3235, and it has both hits: "The Big Hurt" - Toni Fisher and "Hurt" - Timi Yuro. Both are good songs.
