Wobbly Kittens

Uploaded by: lisacat
Video Description:
These little guys have a condition known as cerebellar hypoplasia. They have it as a result of being exposed, via their mother, to the feline distemper virus before they were born. Except for the lack of motor control, they are normal kittens in every way, and like all kittens, they need loving homes! UPDATE: All three wobblies were adopted to fantastic people. There are good homes for these special kittens and cats if they're given a chance! For their story and photos check out flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lisacat/sets/72157594408186217/

My kitten with this ... ( 1 year ago by bassrockcats)
My kitten with this neuroligical problem was 5 months when I got her and copes well considering her balance and co-ordination are awful. I sometimes wonder if its fair to her she takes so many bumps and falls but when I see how happy she is playing with her toys I think well at least 'I've given her a chance in life'

My mother once ... ( 11 months ago by nadinucca)
My mother once found a kitten with FCH on the street and took it home. We named her Monste. Vets gave her a few months life but she ended up living 7 years, she even had her own litter of beautiful kittens. A wonderful mother, and the truth is that as she got older she found ways to cope with the shaking.

These babies are adoreable. I wish my CH Amy had a companion CH kitty but I am at my limit right now. They are so loaded with personality and determination that I have learned many things about setting goals and not giving up from my CH Amy.

its wonderful to see these little guys. i had a CH for 4 years and she died last year. she had a very severe case, she was the shakiest of all her siblings, i even had to take her away from her mother and bottle feed her she barely survived, but in adulthood she was very healthy and spunky. when he died she went into seizures and eventually died on the way to the hospital, i never did figure out if her death was related to her condition. if anyone has any info on this it would be appreciated.

It's not sad, what's sad is that a lot of vets don't realize that kittens with CH can grow to live relatively normal lives, and as a result a lot are put down. Cats with CH don't know there's anything wrong with them. :)

Great that they all found homes.
A snort of laughter escaped me at 0:48 when one kitten -- the most affected by CH, it seems -- enters by abruptly flopping into the scene. I feel a little bad, but it is funny.

Wobbly Kitten can be caused by toxins to the mother or the kittens. I see the kittens are already sporting flea collars. Was the mother also?
