Also, who the f*ck set up these mics? James is buried by the bongos, as he usually is by the Billy Corgan show...That's the one thing that always drove me nuts, that James & co was always shadowed by the friggin Billy Corgan show. What also bugs me (I'm sure I'm not alone) you can hear them get away from a 'band' as Corgan replaces Jimmy in the studio with shitass drum machines as Iha scrounges around the dregs for some leftovers...

Billy wanted complete control... he got it most of the time i reackon, but it was his yearning to have everyone apart from jimmy do as he said, that destroyed the pumpkins. With any competent musician that will always cause trouble... James always seemed to be drowned out by billy i agree....

i agree Billy was always a huge control freak and everyone knew it, he is still the man, that's just the way things were meant to be i think, it just worked.. it must have or we wouldn't have all these pumpkins albums. right!?

I've heard plenty of concerts where James drowns out Billy. They switched guitar 1 and guitar 2 parts all the time; even within sets. James always played lead in songs like Zero, WBFTT, Fuck You and Cash Car Star. Those are not the only exceptions.

I was even younger than you balancebalance! I prefer this acoustic version than the version of the Lull EP because of Jimmy (his sense of rythm is mind-blowing).I'm also open-mouthed by Billy's great performance! Cool vid!
