I'm so thrilled to be eating my favorite thai dessert in the comfort of my own home! I'll never pay full price again! I ended up using ataulfo mangoes which are very sweet and tender. I also need to play with the measurements, as this currently makes A LOT!

Totally agree. I guess some people didn't know that the microwave works wonders but just want to stick to their old methods. I personally use the microwave to cook my rice. No problem at all!

the most appropriate kinds of mangoes with this dessert should be one of these: "Oak-Rong" this should be what you referred that is still green when riped, smell great, quite fat shape, naturally sweet. "Nam Dok Mai" slender shape, totally golden-yellow when riped, perfectly sweet. "Keaw Saway" ed
