Divine Weapons pt 1

Uploaded by: paulagloria
Video Description:
In the Mahabharata Arjuna, the great hero on the side of truth and justice is advised to acquire divine weapons through spiritual penance to Lord Shiva. What does this translate in today's terms when the common person cannot get the protection from politicians beholden to pharmaceutical interest that is allowing so-called healing drugs onto the market and thus killing us not to mention the media that misreports our wars. Where do we get the divine weapons we need today?

I absolutely love the Mahabharata! I never really got the deal with Krishna though...I always felt like his favoritism of the Pandavas was unfair, leading to a kind of dishonorable victory....

There is too much "sympathy for the devil" in this world. Why are you worried by "dishonorable victory" of Pandavas? Kauravas deserved what they got, i.e. defeat! It was Duryhodhan who wanted war.
Duryodhanan may ... ( 3 months ago by aiyer777)
Duryodhanan may have wanted war, but what about everyone else? Kripa, Bhismha, Ashwatthama? THey didn't want it, yet look what happened to them. The way Arjuna defeated Karna was by the fact that Karna's cairrage got caught, and Arjuna, in accordance with Krishna, shot Karna, rather than beating him honorably. Drona was defeated based on a lie that his son, Ashwattama, had died. See where I'm going with this? Bloodshed is bloodshed, no matter how you slice it.
Interesting. The ... ( 3 months ago by rskudesia)
Interesting. The Pandavas embody higher ideals while Duryodhan embodies jealousy, dishonesty, etc. The Pandavas were passive and suffered greatly from the aggressive Kauravas. Imagine the torture of a decade of exile. What Sri Krishna tells us is that don't think being good alone is enough- when all other options are exhausted you have to fight for what is good. Bloodshed is bloodshed, but sometimes it's necessary to preserve righteousness. We must stop the Hitlers. However you can.

the theosophical society in madras has a statue of Madame Blavatsky with a swastika placed this way....I was just experimenting with placing it opposite of the way Hitler did and in line with American Indians...the largest collections of swastikas in the world was found in an Indian civilization near Columbus Ohio and I hear you can see some at the natural history museum in chicago...which I hope to some day

Dear Paula...I love the fact that you know so much about Mahabharat...but I wish everyone would call it Mahabharat...instead of calling it Mahabharata....!!!! By The way the symbol of Swastik is not 1000 years old...it's older than that....it has existed ever since our great religion first started and that was way back in time.....almost million years ago....!!!!

I only know what I know because when I pay attention to the Mahabharat it humbles me and inspires me at the same time....it introduces ideas especially responsibility to others....I have learned a lot since I did this vid and am sure will learn more long after I finish writing to you! stay in touch! what part of India are you from?

I'm from the Capital New Delhi....but now live in Canada....Yea the vastness of this great epic completely mesmerizes me....I still remember way back in the 90's when they first started showing this great epic....everyone in India would be glued to their TV screens every Sunday morning.....Sharp 9 AM.....!!!!
My Favourite part ... ( 1 month ago by seanmcbride1)
My Favourite part of Mahabharat is when Lord Krishna recites the Geeta to Arjun.....!!!! God himself explaining about the true meaning of life and why we exist on this planet... It's beautiful...no other book on this planet holds more wisdom in it than the Geeta..I relate to the spiritual aspect of it's teachings....The soul is perpetual....it never dies...the body is perishable destructible and subject to process of aging....and when it dies the soul leaves the body and enters a new one....!!!!

there are many levels to the Gita.....it is so beautiful it is like your heart cracks open with a combination of the greatest sorrow and joy...amazing yet since there are layers to it consider that there may not be a division to the mind and body....in that case we have a whole other way of reflecting on the wisdom from the Lord's mouth

It ran for 1 year before it finally concluded and like I said before Mahabharat was shown in the early 90's....They did a Re-run of it again at the begining of this decade.....!!!!
