Google Tech Talks July 31, 2007 ABSTRACT Stem cell technology and the debate surrounding it has generated a great deal of excitement and controversy in recent years. The field is surrounded by misconceptions, hype and yet very significant potential. In this talk we'll cover: defining what are stem cells really and where do they come from... the differences between embryonic stem cells and 'adult stem cells' (i.e. derived from our own bone marrow, fat, umbilical cord blood, placentas and even our kids teeth) and emerging technologies to utilize these cells in powerful and novel ways. We'll cover current clinical uses of stem cells, ongoing clinical trials in regenerative medicine (i.e. using...

when are they going to be able to grow teeth using stem cell tech, it is rather arcaic wearing a plate, people can loose teeth for all sorts of reasons, even the young so it would be great.

i you don't think so, open up the video in two browsers and set up the run time according to which video is playing and use the general mouse position as a point of reference. the reason i caught this was the guy walking in the background behind the mouse in the two videos.

I'm very much interested in what he is talking about, but his diction could be better and the overall presentation could be more precise and concise. Other than that, if I replayed the video over, I could get the information.

I actually did this ... ( 4 months ago by itry2brational)
I actually did this. They are the same video. 29:54(left video) and 30:12(right video) plus or minus a few tenths of a second is a good place to start. So what does this mean? It does NOT mean stem cell research is some kind of scam. It is probably just a mistake, you can't expect doctors to be whiz kids with video and presentation software. To disregard the entire video or all of stem cell research as a result of this is asinine.

On Stem Cells & Bone Regeneration. Aspirin prevents osteoporosis by reducimg improper bone reabsorption and bone SC death (USC), mesenchymal (MSCs from marrow) + oxytocin do, too. Scaffolding matrix provides structure for SC binding & differentiation. Dental SCs work, and MSCs work in animals for otherwise non-healing bone injuries. May want to search ClinicalTrials*gov website for specific conditions.
