this is soul ladies and gentlemen encapsulated into a 12 min song that could move mountains with it's poetic-like rhythms oh man if there was ever music this powerful these days I'd be shocked! Everybody is just in it for the money these days and not quality yes this band most likely had a motivation to strike it rich but they put soul into their music that not many bands these days even bother considering doing.

What a yuppie Steve Winwood turned out to be. I read an interview with him in Rolling Stone where he said he was embarrassed of Traffic. Sheesh what about 'Roll with it' bleah..

No kidding, I guess there was a reason I quit listning when he wrote Higher love, valerie etc. I kinda thought his solo work was not anywhere as good as his traffic work. Blind faith is, I think, only other good act,with him. That had Clapton, Ginger Baker, Rick Grech also. I agree what a sellout yuppie, lol, rich sellout yuppie.

The music of Traffic is gonna last in my humble opinion. His eighties stuff is just gonna sound like an aging rocker trying to keep up with the times. It sounds dated where as a band like Traffic although a little Hippie still sound hip. If you know what I mean. Check out Budos Band for new music kinda like this.

I do belive you are right. Was listening to Blind Faith @ Hyde park 1969. Was struck how it is still topical today, sound & style, almost 40 years later. Can imagine "college avant guarde" types grooving to this, along with the Dead & Phish, the "hippy" element you spoke of. Will check out " Budos Band " THX

Chris Wood was using a multi effects unit made by Chicago Musical Industries. It was called the Maestro Woodwind Sound System along with the Maestro Boomerang Wah. His sax sounded so groovy. May he rest in peace.

pewsterbaby--seriously? That is the best comment I have ever gotten back from anyone. I can relate to the past abuse with alcohol for sure--feels good to break through that stuff and all the family BS and finally move on in life, doesn't it? Very good to hear from you.
