His dunks are technically not that good but his height makes it very hard to do. His timing has to be right on and he delivered.

Spud is 5'7". At the time, I took him against the field in a little wager that paid off nicely. Not the best dunks of all time, but when you factor in this height, it looked like his vertical was 6 feet.

Spud has/had the highest vertical leap of any NBA player in NBA history at 46", although in college David Thompson's vertical leap was measured at 48". BTW...both guys played for NC State, Thompson in the mid 70's and Spud in the mid 80's. His dunks in the dunk contest were nothing short of amazing, but I'm even more impressed at some of the dunks he pulled off in games. As a NC State alum ('82) I was fortunate enough to watch Spud do his thing for 4 years.
