couldn't have said it better, my friend. like a lot of good music will do, this song and "Pearl" do nothing better than take me back to a very specific place in time in my life that will never come again; all the emotions all the joy all the pain it's right here in the notes of these songs, laughably bad vid's notwithstanding. The folks who want to argue "shoegaze" vs. "pop" vs. "emo" vs. "modern-alternative", fuck 'em, they're wasting their time. Do waht feels good. Cheers!

this is a 90's gem that deserves far more representation than it gets. Live 105, KITS, I believe, SF/Oakland early 90's, classic alt-rock radio station back in the Paleolithic Era when "radio stations" actually existed. (he said, dating himself) Jesus Christ, what am I, a hundred years old?!?!

OK, the song, fucking fabulous. We all know we were really feeling it, how could we ever think a video could live up to its song??? its a tough act to follow, especially when MTV had more or less just came out. Thanks for posting

WOW! Tons of memories from this song. I was living in London when this came out in October 1991. I had just graduated Uni that spring and was at loose ends before entering "the real world", so I decided to go live overseas for a short time. I heard this EP in a local record shop and bought it on the spot. I got hooked on Chapterhouse (and other "Scene that Celebrates Itself" groups), and have been a big fan ever since. Hard to believe it's been almost 17 years now...
