I love the fact that the Teens always looked even oilier than Eric Burdon, who had some of the dirtiest locks in British beat! Matter of fact, Ray & Art have always reminded me of those characters "Larry, my brother Daryl & my other brother Daryl" from the "Newhart" TV show. Agreed about the bass sound on this track, phenomenal!

(Man... I've had some hangovers in my life that felt like that Tobacco Road beat)
Awesome song by the Nashville Teens. Kicks ass on all levels big time! This Pop Gear appearance has the Teens looking "grubby" but sharp at the same time... that oil lamp in the darkened shack bit - very tobacco road-ish. Dynamite song then, dynamite song now. Five stars for Tobacco Road!

"...I despise ya cause you're filthy, but I love ya, cause you're home..." I wore that 45rpm OUT back in the day. I remember being shocked that a British band could sound so raw and nasty. I'd listened to the song as a kid, but it was done by the Blue Grass Gentlemen. I cannot find that song by that group to save my neck now, and I've looked and looked. Has anyone else ever heard of the Blue Grass Gentlemen? Our one record by them was ripped off by a sleazy cousin back in '83...

The pianist & one of the guitarists went on - to a mellower groove in less than a decade with the group called 'Renaissance'. I'll bet even the Beatles & ...Stones' were jealous of this sound in 64. Their 'Invasion' came down this one road!

Whoohee! An OUT TAKE That The AMC( American Movie Channel)Came up to! Great OLD-SCHOOL R'n'R'! Good Setting,Nice Transferance in the Set Usage,Good Guitar Work (probably 'Lip Sync' on the Vocals),as was usually the Case, unless they were Using 'Studio Booms' - outside the Letterbox Shot. The Second Lead Vocalist looked like a 'Tough Hombre' (no Starting..Anything w/This Lad, He'd Probabily 'Kick Some Ass' -Proper! ALL-in ALL A GREAT 'Original Post" of a "ONE-ALBUM Wonder!
