| The bikes Evel used weighed 450 lbs had virtually no suspension and did not accelerate like the bikes they use to jump today...by comparison a YZ 250 weighs 212 lbs and has 14 inches of travel in the front and over 12 in the rear and has massive power. |

| Also, If you look at the XR Evel rode in 1971 it was not the same motorcycle as the 72 73 etc. The 1971 XR-750 Harley Davidson was a iron-barrel XR. The ones from 1972 and up are what they call a alloy XR. I own one of the Alloy XR Harleys(Not Evels) |

| The Bonneville 650 he originally used up until around 71' and the one he used at Caesars Palace was much heavier than the XR 750... either way neither of them should have been in the air. How come Evil Knievel didnt make it over the Snake River Canyon? The rocket designer forgot to factor in the weight of Evils balls! |

| Evel didn't use the Bonneville much after the Caesars Palace jump. He might not have used it at all after the Caesars Jump. He tried a whole bunch of other motorcycles after that. Some were very heavy . The American Eagle was the biggest one he jumped with. He was looking for someone to sponsor him as well as provide a good jumping bike. Harley provided both. |

| a great stuntman the bravest ever, but he was a bit grumpy ,sorry maybe if i broke all my bones twice i would be grumpy too,but he didnt have much of a personality,and after he beat that guy up , it was a downhill ride ,yes a hero as in ,what he did on hes bike, personality wise maybe not,but for guts and `determination he was n0 1 hes smiling now,i hope so |
