I had a heck of a time finding the mp3 you referenced, until I discovered that it was performed by The Primitives, not Lou Reed solo, and it was recorded in 1964, not 1963. And it's WFMU that has the mp3 for free, not WFUV. But other than that, everything you said was correct! Except for the genius part. It was awful. I guess it really WAS a little something that nobody knows, including you! But now we all know! Ain't it crazy?

And I don't know why you refer us to that song in relation to Sebadoh's FLAME, they sound absolutely nothing alike, the lyrics are nothing alike, there's no point of reference between the 2 songs. do the ostrich baby

I found it with a google search. The Ostrich, Lou Reed. So what if it was WFMU, not FUV, I still found it in 2 seconds. Can't handle a search engine? They sound nothing alike? Do you listen to music or just words? Blind loyalty leads a path to sure destruction. It does sound like "Flame". You probably never arranged or wrote a song to know better. You probably smoke bones. You're Kim Wilde's biggest fan. Your insight is pretty much worthless.

I do know how to use a search engine. That's how I found it with the incorrect information you provided. It doesn't sound like Flame and your ranting changes nothing. Kim Wilde? I was going thru some new wave stuff with my kid and added those videos. Everyone has something going on that someone else can sneer at. I see you have MC Hammer and Spin Doctors in your faves... glass houses dude. Sorry, but dredging up some obscure song doesn't qualify you as a guru.

on songs that similar, listen to Belle & Sebastian's "seeing other people" & "Women's Realm" & then listen to Marshall Tucker Band's "24 hours at a time". No, they don't sound exactly alike. Sure the vocalization is different & some instrumentation is as well, but these tunes are totally chamber-pop in the vein of Lee Hazlewood. WFMU is the greatest radio station ever! Listen to Vicki Bennet's "People like us" show!
