There is no reason we, as omnivores, can't eat 30 grams of fiber per day. The example you're giving happens, but is not a realistic representation. As usual. And medical thinking on diverticulitis still considers griding of lettuce, seeds and nuts as a potential cause. The fluid intake increase
is by far the most important of those three listed. By far.
