| the back flap is only to stop the plane while landing... the air intake on both sides kept it straight, while the left wing was producing heavy amounts of drag. Good thing it was only a training accident instead of a real combat, 'cause he'd be up a sh*t creek with no paddle... |

| it's not called a back flap... those are called Stabilators or Rear Stabs. The flaps are there for increased lift during slow speeds and to help slow the aircraft alon with the speedbrake |
