These individuals who have posted negative comments obviously do not know extreme musical talent when they hear it... Elvis Costello is one of the greatest song writers of our time. In fact, the below persons are more than likely shallow, self centered individuals who can't get beyond the visual element and actually hear the feeling and what the music is getting across. Thats really to bad...

In the early 80's, the "white room" performance clip was a staple on Mtv (& something the Stone Temple Pilots made fun of it in one of their own videos), but that was before Stan Brakhage's influence set in from the late 1980's onward(go 2 IMDB or Wikipedia), so younger people look at this video & by today's standards, it does look silly, but lotsa bands did it back then. Elvis Costello's the man, though, & he has influenced a lot of what rock n' roll is today.
