I agree completely scorzeny45, Immigration is changing the face of Ireland. First it was hunter-gatherers from Great Britain and France in around 8000 BC, then Neolithic tribes from the Iberian Peninsula, Celts, Gaels, the welsh (Saint Patrick) around 5th century A.D, then the Vikings in 800 A.D then that Cambro-Norman lot in 1169, English Scottish , I mean were is it all going to end? LOL...too funny. Thanks, lukessummer, for an interesting take on immigration. It kind of begs the question, "Who are the REAL Irish, Americans, Swiss, French, Spanish, Ossetians, Iraqis, etc?" doesn't it? Quite frankly, I've been amazed at the many hundreds of comments left on this video that relate to the word "race".

Some local populations can also include largely English, Scottish or Flemish ancestry. In future it will include the blood of other cultural groups and races. Many decendents of Irish emigrants have an emotional connection to Ireland and may often refer to themselves as Irish...so perhaps it is also an emotional thing too?
