During their two-day, four-nation trip through Africa, Brian Williams and Bono sat down for an extended interview during a flight from Bamako, Mali, to Accra, Ghana. What follows is a transcript of their conversation, edited for readability.

African countries need to be fixed internally before we'll see real progress. This means stamping out gov't corruption that wastes most foriegn aid,free news media,domestic economic reforms that will bring about long term growth.

you just hit the nail on the head. Bono would do well to take your advice, since it is the only way to truly solve Africa's problems. I have always suspected bono's Africa intervention as leverage to inflate his ego and exposure, but that's a whole other topic.

Look up you morons. Bono is not doing this to blow up his ego and look good for society and the press. He is a kind person who is trying hard with his resources to make this world a better place. It is not up to him, but up to EVERYONE to help one another. I don't even see most wealthy people donating money or trying to give back. Leave Bono alone and do something yourself.
