Poverty has fallen from 45% to 13% of population. Chile's economy is expected to be as developed as countries like Spain and Portugal in as little as 10 years. Between 1980 and 2007 Chile's economy grew 6% a year compared to 2% per year of the rest of Latin America. Pinochet was voted out of office in 1988 but the new regime has continued his policies.
Of course when you compare it to America it is seems poor. By latin American Standards it is not poor. Those statistics I quoted are actually from a Venezuelan Journalist not a government source. My comment compares Chile's economy to the rest of Latin America. I show that Chileans have better
economic policies than the Venezuelans and the Cubans because the free market works and Socialism does not.
´s theories have always been very unpopular and at the same time we see images of people in India or Afghanistan throwing stones to the police...Are they rioting against Milton Friedman? Do you think we are stupid? The interview is even more absurd.
