your allusion to ... ( 4 months ago by matternicuss)
your allusion to Dante's Inferno is off. The Divine Comedy as a whole was a satirical allegory for the world in which mr Alighieri lived. As an artist, I can tell you most art is cathartic. as Alfred Kubin said in his novel, 'art is a safety valve,'. You can choose to dislike an artist' expression, but making universal statements about the state of the world because of Scott is shameful. if anything Scott's work here is a reaction to the world around him, much like Dante before him.

the only darkness I see here is the ignorance given away so freely by you. sure I know most people want music that makes them feel good and want to party, but there are also individuals who like their music to mean something on a personal level...I can't believe you compared this work to the fluff on the radio! this is the extreme opposite, my friend. I know also that most people want answers(and music) handed to them without fuss or difficulty, it is only because of laziness and apathy.

Hi matternicuss,
How long did you spend reading your dictionary?
Next your going to tell me that Scott's work is a reflection of Blake's "The Ghost of a Flea" or John Dunne.

for all you know I'm an English major...but I admit I am not; writing is just a hobby of mine...I never said Walker's work was a reflection of anything but his own self. like any great art, it comes from the soul. I respect the fact that you can't appreciate it, but my only problem was your universal and dogmatic appraisal of its value as art...and then you topped it off w/ a naive comment about today's youth. what youth? american? european?and I shouldnt leave out your disrespect for cutters

Sounds like a take on neo-romantic abstract expressionism -something in the vain of let's say Canticum Canticorum Salomonis but for solo voice or anything else that could have been written by Pendericki. Would have been nicer if some effects were done with the violins in the background.

I read in an interview that those two guitar chords throughout the song are the same opening chords as "Jailhouse Rock" by Elvis Presley, just downtuned 8 steps or so and played on a baritone guitar. It makes sense, seeing as the song is apparently supposed to be a conversation about 9/11 between Elvis and his brother Jesse. That said, musics never made me truly frightened until this song.
