P.D.Q. Bach in Houston - Trailer

Uploaded by: Jlinck
Video Description:
For decades, Peter Schickele has kept audiences rolling in the aisles with his rib-tickling presentations of the alleged music of P.D.Q. Bach, classical music's answer to the Marx Brothers. He has appeared regularly with the principal orchestras of Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Los Angeles, among many others. After taking a touring break to focus on his acclaimed nationally syndicated radio program "Schickele Mix," Professor Schickele is back on the concert circuit. This special December 2005 performance of P.D.Q.'s greatest hits celebrates 40 years of this uniquely appealing act. "A very funny show, even for people who like music but don't know why"

This trailer isn't particularly funny, but the PDQ Bach parodies of classical music, opera, musicians, patrons, and the like is indeed funny.

It's wonderful to see PDQ Bach here on YouTube. Peter Schickele is of course best known for his discoveries and subsequent coverup of many of PDQ Bach's best loved and least known works. You heard the woman. ... Peter Schickele is, IS!, an absolutely first rate composer, he writes wonderful moving music. Several film scores, Silent Running, oh and more. check IMDB.
