It's an electric cello, they modified to have a broader range by adding a string. You'll also notice in other videos of them that the violin has 5 strings as well.

The electric cellos can be customized to have 5 or 6 strings, instead of 4. I think a couple of them can also be extended to bring the open note (the lowest note of the string) down a step or so.
